Human Disease
Units: 3
Quarter: Autumn
Location: Liebow Auditorium (2nd floor of BSB)
Time: 9:00-9:50, M-W-F (*exceptions)

This Human Disease course integrates previous training in histology and molecular biology into an understanding of human disease, the pathology, pathophysiology of common disease states and clinical correlates with medical therapeutics. Instruction is augmented with a computer-assisted image bank of diseases, an interactive case based approach and gross specimens.

The overall goal of the pathology course is of course to teach pathology and human disease, with a view toward the needs of students who will become practicing pharmacists or pharmaceutical scientists, or of graduate students interested in molecular therapeutics. With this in mind, the topics will focus on structure function relationships in diseases states and more specifically, how pharmacologic intervention changes disease outcome and pathology. The syllabus for the 2007 course is inserted below. All classes meet from 9:00 to 9:50 AM.
