Microbial Pathogenesis

Time: Tuesdays, 8:30 to 11:30 AM

Topics to be covered include molecular and cellular mechanisms of viral, bacterial, and protozoan pathogenesis.  Immune defenses of the host will also be addressed.  Weekly meetings will consist of faculty overview of principles and student led discussion of key papers. Course Director – Lynette B Corbeil, DVM, PhD, Professor of Pathology.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attendance required.
  • Papers will be assigned each week.  Students to present the papers will be identified, but all students are responsible for reading all the papers and participating in the discussion.
  • Students will be evaluated on the basis of presentations, participating in discussion, take home exam/paper results.
